Corrigan Gear is a small family owned business located in Seward, Alaska. I create handmade paracord products out of 550lb paracord that was manufactured in the USA. My goal is to provide you with quality paracord items for you to use in everyday wear, or for your survival needs. Cordage is an essential item for survival, and can be difficult and very time consuming to create in the wilderness. Paracord fills that need in an excellent way, and can be easily carried on your person; on your rifle; in your pocket; or even in your pack. At Corrigan Gear, I not only make the items, but I use them every time I go camping, hiking, or hunting in this great land of ours. My family and I hope you find our gear just as useful.

Who We Are |
I am a retired volunteer firefighter from the Seward Volunteer Fire Department, and currently work for the City. I've had over 24 years of experience working and volunteering in the Emergency Services area. With just as many years living in Alaska, I've learned a thing or two about basic survival skills and gear. Living in Alaska can be an adventure all on its own. Dealing with living in an area where temperatures can dip down to - 70F or where it takes 3 hours to get to the next major town, one learns to be prepared for anything. My husband, who is now retired volunteer Assistant Fire Chief, and my daughter, often help out at the craft shows, I wouldn't be able to do this business without their support and encouragement.

From 1998 to 2015 I volunteered at the Seward Fire Dept, serving my community during disasters and helping to prepare for future ones.

Our History |
In 2013, as economic times were becoming tight, I decided to take it upon myself to find a way to help bring in a little extra money to the family. Not wanting to spend more time every week away from my family by working a second job, I chose to create a side home business. Now I could work mostly from home, taking a few weekends out of the year to sell my crafts at craft shows. Being on the web is another way to help sell my gear and I hope you found my site convenient and easy to work through. As I looked for companies that I could buy paracord from at wholesale prices, I found a well known company for paracord called Rothco. I realized that they sold items in the outdoor, tactical, camping, and survival areas. To help expand my options into the survival and camping areas, I've begun to sell some of their bags and other tactical items also. Although they are not handmade by me, I am hoping they will help round out and give my business some more opportunities. The core of my business will remain creating handmade paracord items to help others enjoy the outdoors with confidence. If you have a company that creates Made in the USA survival, camping, everyday products, please contact me about selling your items on my site. I would love the opportunity to collaborate with other small family businesses.
